The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) is the lead agency on a proposed project to provide water storage for water used in homes, and at farms and businesses, including water for drinking, irrigation, recreation and environmental purposes.

The Centennial Water Supply Project consists of a 110,000-acre-foot reservoir and appurtenances on the Bear River between NID’s existing Combie and Rollins reservoirs. The project would span Placer and Nevada county lines within the NID District, and provide mid-elevation storage to capture runoff from rainstorms and snowpack runoff from higher elevations in the Sierra.
